How your training contract will be structured
As a trainee you will complete four six-month seats, each one in a different department. If you are a trainee in the Norwich office you will stay at Norwich for the duration of your training. If you are a trainee within the East Midlands region, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in at least two of our offices and we always aim to accommodate your preferences.
When you first join the firm you will be introduced gradually to the work and to the firm. We do not necessarily believe that being thrown in at the deep end is the best way to learn. Your first day will be spent in a trainee induction, which will take place at one of our offices. Here you will be introduced socially to colleagues and will be shown our accounts and IT systems.

Marketing
We firmly believe in developing your marketing skills from an early stage. Trainees attend all client events hosted by the firm such as regular client seminars (when you will help your department with research), seasonal client parties and so on. In certain seats you will also be encouraged to attend events organised by our clients. The social aspect of such events will be important to you as you will have a high degree of involvement in the work carried out by your department for these clients.

Partner Supervision
You will report direct to a partner or senior fee earner and, after three months and again towards the end of your seat, you will be formally assessed by the partner training you. Towards the end of each seat the Training Principal will also appraise you and your ambitions for the future will be discussed. These will then be taken into account when placing you in your next seat.
It is our ambition to recruit well educated graduates who share our desire to be the best. Our clients expect an excellent service and an important part of your training will be to put your knowledge to practical use, developing workable, cost effective solutions for clients, as part of a team. You will be given every assistance by the fee earners in your department to develop quickly and you will be given responsibility as soon as you are ready.

What we will do for you
Successful candidates may be offered a grant to cover GDL and LPC fees and this may include a maintenance grant for those studying the LPC only.
Candidates will also have the option of joining the firm's contributory pension scheme and will be eligible for private health care.
We want to retain our trainees on qualification and as such we want you to be happy. With this in mind, quarterly trainee meetings have been devised to provide you with an opportunity to meet each other together with the Training Principal and HR team. During these meetings you will be able to raise and discuss issues that affect you as trainees and you will have the opportunity to put forward your views and any ideas you may have in relation to the firm.
