Howes Percival LLP is a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales with registered number OC322781 and is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. The term partner is used to refer to a member of Howes Percival LLP, or an employee or consultant with equivalent standing and qualifications. All of the members of Howes Percival LLP are solicitors of England and Wales, apart from Mark Oldershaw (who is a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives) and Richard Lovett (who is a non-lawyer).

We are regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (the independent regulatory body of the Law Society) whose address is Ipsley Court, Berrington Close, Redditch B98 0TD. We are subject to the Solicitors Code of Conduct, which may be viewed at www.sra.org.uk.

The Legal Ombudsman deals with complaints against lawyers, although this service is only available to members of the public and very small businesses, charities, clubs and trusts. Details of the Ombudsman's services and the eligibility of complainants can be found at www.legalombudsman.org.uk. The Ombudsman can be contacted by post at PO Box 15870, Birmingham B30 9EB or by telephone on 0300 555 0333. Any complaint to the Ombudsman must usually be made within six months of the date of our final written response to the complaint.

Howes Percival LLP is not authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. Howes Percival LLP will not give and the scope of its instructions does not extend to providing investment services, to acting as your financial adviser or otherwise providing advice on the merits of a particular transaction. We are able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are members of the Law Society of England and Wales, which is a designated professional body for the purposes of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. We can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of our legal work.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority is the independent regulatory arm of the Law Society of England and Wales. The Legal Ombudsman deals with complaints against lawyers. If you are unhappy with any investment advice you receive from us, you should raise your concerns with either of these bodies.

However it is included on the register maintained by the Financial Services Authority so that it can carry on insurance mediation activity, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
